The responsibility of a Team Captain is merely to build a team of at least 3 runners or walkers but the 3 Team Captains with the largest teams wins a FaBuLoUs prize...

2nd Place--$300
3rd Place--$100

If you are interested in being a Team Captain, please contact Jeanette Hudgeons at jhudgeons07@hotmail.com or call 918-845-6427.

Stick around after the race for food and family-friendly entertainment! Kids can jump to their heart's delight on the Jupiter Jumps and food will be available for purchase from vendors such as Trails End BBQ & IceCrystals Shaved Ice. Musical entertainment will be provided by Kirkland Field - one of Tulsa’s newest & hottest bands to hit the music scene. This pop/rock cover band, based out of Broken Arrow will play anything from the 70's to current hits.

*** All proceeds from the Orphan Run will go towards building new homes at Calo Me Lare. Orphan Run 2013 Is In The Works!

Orphan Run 2013 is in the works and is scheduled for Friday, May 31st, 2013 at Stone Canyon neighborhood in Owasso, OK. You don't want to miss out on this great opportunity to raise money for orphans in Uganda! Stay tuned for more details!

Update on Orphan Run 2012

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Orphan Run on June 1, 2012! On-line race results can be found here and pics from the run can be seen on the Project Hope Worldwide facebook page here.

Amazingly, we had over 1,000 registrants for our event - practically unheard of for a "first time race". Thanks to your generous giving, construction will take place soon on another home at Calo Me Lare (a.k.a. "Village of Redemption"), the orphanage that Project Hope Worldwide built in Lira, Uganda. The home will house eight children and one widowed house mother - providing them hope for a better future.

Now that you know about Project Hope Worldwide, your family might like to consider sponsoring a child living at Calo Me Lare. When you sponsor a child, you actually have the chance to develop a relationship with them half a world away! You can send them letters and small gifts - and they always write you back. Your contribution provides them shelter, food, schooling, and medical care. With child sponsorship, you not only help the child you are sponsoring, but your family is blessed, as well. As we see what little they posses, yet they are very happy, it teaches us to be content and thankful for what we have and you feel joy knowing that you are truly making a difference. 48 children are now living at Calo Me Lare and 16 more are getting ready to move in this fall. There is a huge need for child sponsorships, so please consider this for your family. Sponsorship levels begin at $19 a month and go up. For more information, please go here.

See you next year for Orphan Run 2013!

Important Updated Info on Tonight's Orphan Run...

In the Orphan Run race packets, you will find your race bib #, t-shirt & safety pins (for pre-registered 5k-ers), and sponsorship info & goodies. At tonight's race, participants will need to stop by the chip table and pick up their assigned chip. Your time will not be recorded without the chip so please be sure to arrive early to allow time to pick that up before the race. Timeline is hosting our race and that is how they prefer to pass out chips, vs. putting them in the packets. They say it prevents people from forgetting them the night of the race. Thank you for your patience & cooperation!

When you arrive at Stone Canyon (177th and 76th street in Owasso), you will be directed to park in the parking lot west of Stone Canyon Elementary. Please allow time for this as you will have to walk a short distance to the registration tables just south of the school. (An arrival time of 5:30 or 6 pm should be appropriate.) The 1-Mile Fun Run will begin at 6:30 pm and the 5K will begin at 7pm. There is a slight chance of rain tonight; however, the race will continue unless there is lightening in the area.

Be sure to stop by the vendor booths - Project Hope Worldwide, Arubah Community Clinic, CrossFit Primus, Girly Me Missions, and Chick-fil-A will all be there.

Please plan on staying for the fun family-friendly entertainment after the race! Pack your lawn chairs and blankets and bring jackets for unseasonably cooler temps! Enjoy the sounds of Kirkland Field, savor the delicious food by Trails End BBQ, and cool off with yummy shaved ice by IceCrystals. Kids, be sure to say "hi" to the Chick-fil-A cow, snag a free sandwich and pick up coupons for a free cookie!

Being our first race, when we first started planning the Orphan Run, we thought we might be able to get about 200 runners but 500 was our "big dream goal". Excitement built over the Run, word spread, and thanks to you, we are now expecting between 700-800 runners! Thank you so much for helping the Orphan Run become such a huge success and for giving orphans in Uganda hope for a better future. We look forward to making this an annual event and we hope to see everyone again next year!

Now let's get out there and have some fun - all for a great cause!
